I'm looking for news sources for the gun industry. I can find politics stuff easy, it's common as water. I'm looking for technical news, new guns, new ammo, innovations, that sort of thing. Any one know of good sources?

internet shot show reports such as the one done by gunblast.com are fairly informative. they only come out once per year but coincide with the introduction of most of the new guns. The Ruger and Smith and wesson web sites are another possibility.

Gun magazines are packed with advertisments that hit print before most of the guns are ever reviewed. They are a fairly good way of finding out what's new.

Boards such as this one , Smith and wesson forum and Ruger forum are good about tracking rumors of changes in the industry and changes in the product line. Some of the first news about performance of new guns come out on these boards and are at least as reliable as the magazine reports.
A prime difference is that the internet chatter tends to dwell on hated new features like trigger locks and action parts made of Excrement Injection Moulded technology while the gunmagazines tend to put a happy face on anything excreted by the industry.

Industry insider news is subject to a combination of sensationalism and damage control. There is a lot of information out there but the real chore is figuring out how much of it is true.
