Mods, if this should go in "Rallying Point," please move it for me.

I did a search and didn't find anything related to Gunstock. I know THR will be well represented.

Who all's going?

Full auto, gunfolk, and good coffee...I can't wait.

I just got back from the RSO training for Gunstock and will be working the line there. From what I saw Saturday, this should be a safe and well run event. Promises to be a very good time. They are going to have a "shoot house" set up on location as well as a number of other fun activities.

If you are in Texas, you better have a good excuse for NOT showing up! ;)

Attention, people, stay away from the brown ammo!:D

October 4, 2004, 04:41 PM
That's one of the funniest things i've seen on the board in a long time!

October 4, 2004, 05:50 PM
I'll be crying the whole weekend, but I would be able to make the roadie.

Hopefully some of you that are blessed to go will take tons of pictures and post them here for us unfortunate souls.

October 4, 2004, 07:33 PM
I will be there on Sunday...can't wait!

October 5, 2004, 10:14 AM
Attention, people, stay away from the brown ammo!

I hurt myself laughing at that one!!:D

Seriously, though... I can't believe we don't have more TX THR folks heading to Waco.... Anyone in H-Town interested in a road-trip?

This is the first big post-sunset event in TX and should be a hoot with all those Evil Black Rifles floating around....:D

October 5, 2004, 10:20 AM
I get to Abilene on Sunday for a Monday class.

Expedia is showing it 4 hours from Abilene. Is that so? I might have to leave here on Friday and hang out there in Waco on Sat/Sun.

October 5, 2004, 10:25 AM
Lenny! Outstanding!

One of these days we'll get to hang out when you dont just come off of a 3-4 hour drive.

You need me to bring you a tent or anything?

October 5, 2004, 10:29 AM
I'd love to go, but unfortunately all of my extra funds are tied up into my deer hunt the next weekend. That 25 bucks each would put a dent in my food allowance and if any of you saw me, you'd know that you just can't mess with this mans food. :D

October 5, 2004, 11:10 AM
Spread the word, we gotta get more folks involved!

October 5, 2004, 11:38 AM
Lennyjoe, 4 hours sounds about right. I'll be camping on site and I'm sure we'll all have lots of spare room to put you up if you can make it.

October 5, 2004, 11:31 PM
I think Im gonna leave here (Tucson) on Friday morning. That should put me there late Friday eve. Gives me Saturday and some of Sunday to hang around.

Heck yea, I would love to join in on the fun. Suggestions on what to bring. Remember, Im coming from another state;)

October 6, 2004, 10:28 AM

You can help me assemble the "No Ban" parts I plan to pick up there. We can build us an M4 by Coleman light.

October 6, 2004, 11:32 AM
Argh! I have plans that weekend! I wouldn't be able to afford it right now anyway... there's always next year.

October 6, 2004, 09:32 PM
Are ya'all gonna register or just pay at the door?

Also, whats the plan on sleepin quarters? Camping or Hotels.

Lemme know so I can book a room if need be. Guess I need to bring the AR-15 so I can get a supressor put on her.

October 7, 2004, 01:24 PM
I registered online. $65 gets you in all three days, plus a t-shirt, plus dinner on Saturday and 3 raffle tickets. If you buy at the door it's $25/day just to get in. Even if you are coming for two days you will be better off pre-registering.

I'm camping on-site and have a big honkin' tent, so if you need to stay dry I think we've got you covered. If you have room to pack your own tent, all the better. There are a lot of nearby hotels if you would prefer that route. I think Thumper is planning to camp too. To me camping will be about half the fun of this. Sitting around the campfire swapping lies.... :D

October 7, 2004, 03:27 PM
Good chance of rain, current forecast has it clearing up though. Either way expect a mudbog. We've had lots of rain the last week. Ground is totally saturated.

My attendance is up in the air at this point. B-I-L is getting married Halloween eve, and there seems to be a non-stop list of things I am being required to do and go to between now and then.

October 7, 2004, 07:31 PM
Hope you make it, Smoke.

I did a little dove busting last month in your neck of the woods and Bosque County really is God's country.

Hanging out around perfectly clear blue water running through rocky draws encrusted in cactus will add years to your life.

October 8, 2004, 12:15 AM
Heck, if I got the opportunity to take home a porker I'd stay the following weekend after the class in Abeline.

Quail comes in tomorrow here so I'll be out beating the brush this weekend.

Ronnie, PM me your cell number again. Seems dumped it out of my addy book by accident. THX.

October 8, 2004, 12:51 PM
Probably be muddy, but right now the 10-day forecast shows mild weather with no rain for Fri-Sun. Let's hope that holds up.

October 14, 2004, 12:13 PM
We're heading out this afternoon...anyone that wants to meet up, PM me for my cell.

October 14, 2004, 12:32 PM
Get back to work, Thumper!! You can't leave for 5 1/2 more hours!!

October 14, 2004, 12:34 PM
Work, Schwerk...I'm daydreaming about hot brass and then later, cold beer.

October 14, 2004, 01:56 PM
I'm trying to figure out if this is worth going to. I've never been and the description on the page isn't real clear. Is this like a shooting event where you have to shoot or is it like a gun show with shooting attractions? I was supposed t go to Waco this weekend to visit a friend there and I'm interested in this but I'd like to know what I'm spending $25 on first.

October 14, 2004, 03:25 PM
Im gonna pack up tonight and leave in the morning around 0400.

Should be there around dinner time.

Will call ya when I get in Waco so I can figure where the heck your camped out at.

October 14, 2004, 03:51 PM

It is a shooting event with a gun-show on site. There will be a vendor tent with a number of dealers (including Armalite and Bushy) and 4-5 ranges hot at any given time. They will have a few competition shoots, as well as a lot of open shooting, including steel plates and paper. Will also have a number of Class III dealers on hand renting full-auto gear if you want to make some serious noise.

I hope you can make it! I'll be the RSO with the Molon Labe hat on or if you IM me before I leave tonight I can give you my cell number.

October 14, 2004, 09:29 PM
I'm thinking of going over to gunstock for a short visit. Will I need to bring ear protection? I'm probably not going to be doing any shooting, just gonna be watching the competition and window shopping?

October 14, 2004, 11:39 PM
Looks like great fun...

Enjoy everyone...

October 17, 2004, 05:52 PM
I had a great time.

Thanks Lee for providing a place to crash.

Thumper and Kate, thanks for everything.

I will download some pics when I get back from Abeline.

BTW, Cheaperthandirt was closed. :banghead:

Drove up there for nuttin. Darn it!

October 18, 2004, 09:22 AM
My pleasure. The tent was certainly big enough!! :D

We found that board that you were sleeping on when we rolled up the tent. We almost saved it for you, but then decided you wife might not understand if we mailed a stick to you marked "Lennyjoe's girlfriend"....

What you didn't know was that you were also sleeping directly above a rather large fire-ant bed the entire time....  Thanks goodness the tent didn't have any holes in it right there!

Enjoyed hanging out with you and Thumper and Kate and hope we get a chance to all do it again soon. Don't forget to post those pics, and have a safe drive home!

October 18, 2004, 09:57 AM
Great to meet you guys and hope to see you all again soon.

October 18, 2004, 11:11 AM

Mr. LennyJoe,
(look my first post!) sorry you went all that way to ctd for nothing! I guess the directions got you there though. It was great meeting everyone I cant wait to do something like that again. I have to say when I first got there I thought it was going to be boring and was doing a favor for Thumper but it was great! I enjoyed every minute of it and y'all made me feel welcome, so thanks!

October 20, 2004, 08:40 AM
I had a great time anyway. Was a true pleasure meeting you as well.

I truely enjoyed seeing you two searching for Ronnies missing toy.

That episode might make the Roundtable sometime.;)

Lady K
October 20, 2004, 10:26 AM
There will be no more thieving of the toy, or its going to be you and Mk

crawling under cars. Hey did you take any good pics?

October 20, 2004, 10:30 AM
Lady K, glad to see you logged in! You were our official den mother for the weekend, and it was a lot more fun for us with you having been there!

Same goes for all our other new ARFCOM friends! What a great bunch of guys. Hope to see you all around here more, and you can count on seeing me at ARFCOM more!

(BTW, all you THR folks that missed this, Lady K is even nicer and better looking in person.... Her only shortcoming is that she is dating Thumper....):D

October 20, 2004, 01:29 PM
Yea, I have some good pics but I left my cable at home to download into my laptop. I have to wait til I get home on Sat to post them.

October 20, 2004, 04:53 PM
Cool Now i have to post just to keep my post count ahead of K-dot. Hope to see all you bunnies soon.

October 20, 2004, 05:07 PM

I get it.

October 20, 2004, 05:21 PM
Who Dat with ETH's Ar?

Kodiak AK, remember, it's not a weapon, it's a tool!:D

October 20, 2004, 07:52 PM
anyone else notice how DVDtracker BARELY MOVED under the recoil of an M60, that is pretty cool.

that Dewalt AR reminds me of the TONKA SOUND SYSTEM. Tonka sound was a sound system crew out of london in the late 80's. They moved to SF in the early nineties and started putting on the sound for big underground parties. The biggest setup of theirs I saw was a 45,000 watt "Wall of Sound", their loudspeakers are all Yellow and blocky with big TONKA lables. That makes me want to build the ultimate TONKA AR. Ready? Yellow CAV arms lower, big TONKA logo, 16" barrel in 50 Beowulf, JP muzzle break, yellow handguards. If that wasn't the LOUDEST AR around, I'll be darned.

October 21, 2004, 10:39 PM

I tell ya some day i am going to do that , the Milwakee, and a Mikata to boot .

October 22, 2004, 10:31 AM
Lady K, you have to remember, I'm used to having three women to care for me (a blond, a red-hed, and a bruntte, no less). :D I'm getting plenty of fluids now. ;) We definitely need to shoot when you are back in town.

Hound, you're down by one now!! :neener:

Kodiak AK, what about Craftsman and Ryobi?:p I am seriously thinking the pink AR will be the one for my older daughter once she gets into shooting. Put a "Barbie" logo on it and you're all set! (Where can we go with this one... the pink Barbie Hummer, the Barbie Dream Command Post with retractable twin 50's.... ahh the possibilities are endless.)

October 22, 2004, 12:44 PM
Okguy has a pink ar for his girl and there are several more around. Lady K is behind now.

October 22, 2004, 12:49 PM
Hun Farm has been decided to be the weekend before thanksgiving. Please every is invited.

October 22, 2004, 01:14 PM
I may be able to work Saturday at the Hun farm into my schedule.....

Very cool!

October 22, 2004, 11:01 PM
I'll be up at the Hun Farm for sure! Already have secured the time off work.

With any luck, I'll have my .308 Saiga either fixed or replaced by Davidson's.

Also trying to get the scratch together for this Springfield M1A at Bachman's in Dallas that calls to me in my dreams...

October 23, 2004, 10:39 AM
Im gonna have to pass.

Thats my week for deer hunting.

Arizona and their stupid permit drawing only allows us one week per year to hunt deer.:banghead:

October 23, 2004, 10:42 AM
Oh yea, I got home safe. Late last night. Here's the pics I took. Enjoy.

Lee trying out the Kel-Tec P3AT (he didnt like it).

October 23, 2004, 10:46 AM
Couple more.

The brass bandit.;)

October 23, 2004, 03:01 PM
Thats brass whore, Lenny!:D

I loaded up 50 rounds of the Winchester brass last night and it shot great!:neener:

Great pictures, thanks for posting them.:)

Edit to add: The P3AT was just too small for my "man-hands"....;)

Lady K
October 23, 2004, 07:16 PM
Lennyjoe, you rock! thanks for posting those. I wish you could make it to

the farm we'll miss you.

October 23, 2004, 07:36 PM
Maybe next time.

Gonna save up some bucks so we can go home to Ohio and WVA for Christmas. :D

October 23, 2004, 10:32 PM
I guess I'm an anti-brass whore.

The only brass I've been policing is .38 super. I keep telling myself

"I'm gonna get a press. I'm gonna get a press."

Kind of along the line of:

"I don't need any more guns. I don't need any more guns"

Heh . How ironic . Garry Owen on Arfcom is holding THE LAST pink lower for me and setting it up a little different with a special engraving for my fiance' Barbara"Barbie".....:o
