Hey Guys,
I have an 870 express that I am working on. So far I have the mag extension and a shorter barrel on the way. I am looking for an inexpensive for end that has a light and maybe a pressure switch on it. Any ideas? I've tried search most of the gun dealers but don't really know what it is called. This will end up being purely a HD gun when I am done. Eventually I would like to add a collapsible stock and AR type grip. But the adapter for it is about $150 and is out of my league right now. Thanks for the advice.

I know Brownell's sells the surefire foreend but at around $200 something dollars it's kinda expensive. But I plan on putting it on my 870 when I have some extra cash.

Go with the Surefire Fore-end. Its worth every penny.
Other options:
RAS 870 Fore-end with the option to mount a light ala AR15 fore-ends.
MesaTactical has been nice enough to send me a AR kit for evaluation. It has a rail side mount for a light. I should be recieving the gear today and I'll get out some pictures and thoughts this gear in the next couple days.

There was a post by a guy over in ar15.com's shotgun forum about epoxying a plastic surefire onto the standard 870 forearm. With a shock-isolated bezel and surefire 2-battery weapon pack, it would probably work acceptably well.
Do a search over there.

There is a replacement fore-end for 870s that has a Streamlight Stinger or Scorpion? In it, makes the fore-end look pregnant since it has a large flashlight attached, but it is rechargeable and apparently works well. A medium sized PD in CA is now issuing it on all their 12s since it's about half the price of the Surefire.
In my case I would go with the Surefire though.
Last month's issue of SWAT had the fore-arm I'm talking about.
PM me, I'll look it up and give you the website.
