I am going to Louisiana for a conference in a couple weeks. Does LA have non-res permits? any restrictions to availability?
I will only have a couple days to locate a place to sign up, take whatever course may be necessary, and get it all squared away. Can it be done?

As a resident of Louisiana, one thing that I don't get is how we have reciprocity with more states than we give it to.Don't know for sure, but if state A's CHP requirements are more stringent than state B's, then B is more likely to recognize A's CHPs than the other way around.

It also seems that FL is proactive in getting other states to recognize its CHPs.

NewShooter78, Some of it has to do with politics I imagine.
I live in MS and you live in LA, if either of us want to hunt in the other's state our Non Resident license will cost more than if we wanted to hunt in other states. MS and LA do not share reciprocity on firearms permits either.
