That's a good question, although don't lose any sleep over it because their bullets suck. Then again so do Berry's and Rainier's. Zero's are the way to go!

The only reason I haven't been shooting Zeros is the extra wear on the barrel. Is this a reasonable concern?

Gary, are you a top level bullseye shooter or engaged in some other sport where superb accuracy is needed? If not don't worry about barrel wear. A typical handgun barrel will last well past 20K rounds without noticeable accuracy changes shooting jacketed bullets. If you put 20K rounds of jacketed bullets downrange from one gun I think you could consider yourself quite fortunate, and that you should fix the gun if needed and pray that you are fortunate enough to do it again.

20,000 rounds would just be a warm-up for a Glock barrel.

That was what I was looking for.. thanks.

My Glocks will last forever considering that I rarely take them out.

Gary, I agree with Rockstar. The Glock barrels will last almost indefinately with jacketed bullets due to the tennifer treatment that is on the outside and inside the bore. The same can be said for the HK poly rifled bores. Unless you run into a situation where the super hard layer flakes off, which is rare but not impossible, the first things to wear out will will be the locking block and the bore in the slide that supports the muzzle end of the barrel. The locking block is easily replaceable, the slide will not loosen up enough to be a problem if lubricated for many tens of thousands of rounds. If the tennifer flakes Glock will replace the barrel free, they did for me anyway.

Glad I was able to help.

So what's wrong with West Coast or Ranier bullets? What's so different about Zero's?

Nothing wrong with them in general. For some people in some guns with some powders they don't give good results, which sometimes turns those folks into jacketed or cast snobs.

I shoot plated bullets exclusively, though I prefer Berry's for the lower cost.

But back on topic, does anyone know what happened to West Coast?

If you do a whois on the domain name:

Domain Name: WESTCOASTBULLET.COM
Registrar: STARGATE.COM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.stargateinc.com
Referral URL: http://www.stargateinc.com
Name Server: NS2.DOMAIN50.COM
Name Server: NS1.DOMAIN50.COM
Status: REDEMPTIONPERIOD
Updated Date: 22-sep-2004
Creation Date: 22-sep-1998
Expiration Date: 21-sep-2004

It looks like they didn't bother to re-register the domain name after it expired, which is why it probably isn't resolving to the vhost by the hosting company.

nslookup westcoastbullet.com NS1.DOMAIN50.COM

That address (westcoastbullet.net) doesn't resolve, either. If anyone is really interested, it appears that you can contact them at the above phone number.

The Stargate whois doesn't have anything any more on westcoastbullet.com.

We've been buying West Coast bullets for years . . . by the ton. A bunch of us do group buys 3 or 4 times a year. You get much better pricing. Good bullets, good people.
