Puttin' out the call for a little assistance to anyone who can help.

I'd like to see a picture on this thread of a round of the old Wolf .45 ammo
and a round of either Winchester...Federal...PMC, etc. for comparison
of the cases. If you also have a round of the "New and Improved" Wolf
.45, that would be a plus. Empty cases are fine. This is a comparison of
the cases only. All I need is a side view, and although it's an ammo thread, it's related to the gunsmithing forum.

Wild Alaska...sshhhhh. Don't let on.

Thanks in advance for anybody who can help.

Tuner

I don't have anymore but I did once mike my ammo, (old)Wolf, Winchester, Rem and Federal, I remember the Wolf had the largest O.D. on the rim and largest O.D. on the inner radius of the rim....

Hope that helps...

Howdy Jeff,

The rim diameter ain't what I'm lookin' at. I've got a few of the old Wolf cases here. I'll mail it to ya if you'll make a picture and post it. If you can find a round of the new stuff with the purtier color, it would be good. I
haven't looked at any yet, but I'll check to see if anything's changed from the old. 9mm Wolf and Winchester, etc. would also be good...

Later on, mah fren!

My camera sucks Tuner, can't get close ups to look clear. I haven't bought any of the new Wolf .45, gave up after I got the reloading bug. Still got a stockpile of 9mmBlazer, again, haven't shot 9mm much since I started reloading.... You were right, "soon you'll go shooting just so you can reload": :D

Thanks for the ol' college try Jeff mah fren...

I need for the cases to be aligned with the bases against a straightedge
and the cases touching, side-by-side. I want the guys to study'em to see if they can spot the trouble area and figger out why the stuff offers a good chance of bustin' an extractor...internal OR external.

I might be able to help out. My camera takes pretty good close ups with good lighting. I may have some of the old Wolf laying around, but for sure none of the new stuff. Anyone know if Gander Mtn carries it?

Johnny - are you looking for pictures of factory loaded, unfired rounds or the spent cases?

Hey Tuner, I've got a camera that will work but I dont have any wolf cases.
I can compare it to something like Winchester brass though.

Mark and Andrew...Thanks for the help, guys.

Fired or unfired will work...but unfired may make a clearer picture in any event.

Andrew, I can mail a fired Wolf case to you for the close-ups. I picked up a fresh one off the ground at the range last trip just in case nobody had one on hand. I suppose that I could buy a box of the new stuff to get one for the pix.
