I have an NEF hand-rifle in 243 win. I love it. it shoots like a dream and the only problem I have had with it is the ejector sticking, which I solved with a drift pin and emery cloth. I don't handload but I enjoy accurate shooting very much. so I have tried various different factory loads in it. so far the federal premium with 95 grain bullets has shot the most accurate. which is good because it works equally well on rodents and deer.

now I need to know what ammo is everybody else using in there 243s? the reason I ask is because there is quite a variety of factory loads out there and I don't have the money or the time to try all these loads.

so give me your opinions etc.

ps, extra brownie points if you can tell me the cheapest place to get it too
pss, little brother gets a bolt action savage in 243 this week so I'm gonna help him pick out ammo and sight it in.

My NEF prefers loads in 95 gr and 100 gr. Anything less than that and accuracy suffers. My personal preference is the Winchester 95 gr Supreme Ballistic Slivertip.

I've had the best results with Sierra 100 grain bullets, with the flat base slightly outperforming the boat tails.

In both .243 and 6mm AI my preferred powder is RL-22.
