So I ordered an HK USP 40 compact. It was ordered before the ban went away and was supposed to come with 10 round mags. Now that the ban is gone should they automatically ship it with the 12 rounders? Tried calling HK but the secretary I talked to wasn't much help. If it comes with the 10, do you think they would exchange them unused? Thanks in advance.

Not unless HK advertised a mag offer. If you're ordering it, just tell your dealer to make sure the distributor sends one with standard caps. Tell your dealer that if it doesn't come with standard caps, you will not accept it.

You can bet that manufacturers and distributors will do their very best to flush out all their stock of low-cap mags before anything else, otherwise they will be stuck with them. I don't mind 10-rounders for range use, but I've seen too many that caused jams to trust any for defense (especially the ones from Glock).

I am not sure about the HK's yet but the Glocks my dealer is getting in now are comming with 2 Full Cap mags instead of the 10 rounders.

I heard on HKPRO that MK23 orders were being delayed so 12 rounders could be substiuted for 10 rounders by HK.

Dunno if it is true, or if it applies to other USP's.
