This is mine. Thanks jdmb03 for sending me the grips. They are Eagles that jdmb03 did a little custom fitting. They feel good and look right on this gun.

Whulp - This pic IS NOT mine - so don't give me credit. But I have one at the shop on lay-away and hope to have her within the month. It doesn't exactly qualify as custom, but the 3-inch short shroud and short grip is certainly one of the more scarce GP100's. Ya ain't gonna find all that many still available out there ( It's discontinued )
That is all stuff I was able to do myself. It started out as a Gander Mountain $299 Ruger GP-100 with 4" half shourd bbl. It had some "frosting" to the finish so I refinished the entire gun and high polished a few parts like the trigger face and top strap. Slab sided the bbl, cut to a true 2 1/2" instead of the 2 3/4" that you can buy. Cleaned up the action a little. The hardest part was remounting the front sight. The gunshop at GM wanted $100 to mount the sight.:what: I said, forget it and just did it myself.
It took me about a week and two weekends to get it all done. I am happy with it because it is now a gun that I will use. I carry it when I can and almost always have it in my glove box. It comforts me when I have to visit the "exciting" parts of town.:D The recoil is mild even with full house .357 mags.

Another pic of the same GP. I really didn't care for the flames. Tried polishing the whole gun but fingerprints were driving me crazy so I bead blasted it leaving the accent stripe. I then polished the cylinder flutes, hammer & trigger.
