I had originally ordered a set of Hogue Pau Ferro wood grips for my 638 "Bodyguard", but I received an e-mail friday from Hogue stating that they had lost my order. (I reckon that kinda thing happens now and then.) However, I went to one of the BIG gun shows at the fairgrounds on saturday and found a nice looking replacement for half the price of the Hogues. (The Hogues are still on reorder and I have plenty of other J-frames which would benefit from nice Pau Ferro wood grips.) These are made of pure walnut and are quite beautiful on the bodyguard. I'll have to get used to the "slicker" feeling than the rubber grips had, but like Tamara says~"It says somewhere in Deuteronomy that pistol grips should be made of wood". :) Walnut is a handsome grip material.
*Plus, for only five more dollars than the ticket to the gun show would have been, I joined the GOA and got into the show for FREE! Talk about your good deals!
