Can someone tell me when S&W started making the 25-9?

I've been offered one, but don't have my books with me at the moment.

I'm debating this one.

It's a 6" in .45 Long Colt, the shop that has it says EXTREMELY nice condition, for $350.

I just don't know if I want to spend the money right now, though, and I really really really want a 4".
