First of all I would like to thank all of you in the legal and political section for opening my eyes to go search out my own reason for voting. I was planning on voting for Kerry for the last couple months or so. I had no reason for this except the constant Bush bashing going on in my native state (PRK). This board led me to examine Kerrys views on subjects that effect me, come to find out he doesnt have many views! I know nothing about him and if the debates showed me anything, I probably never will! Ok, now on to the subject of this thread. I am traveling to visit a good friend and fellow NRAer out in western N. Carolina. I am flying out there and I will be flying back. I wanted to bring my handgun out there for some outdoor shooting. How do I go about this? Do I need to fill out paperwork? I am planing on putting it in my luggage (not carry on) and it will be locked in my pistol box. What are the regulations on this? I look foward to your help.

The answer is discussed at great length on the thread:

Flying with firearms and the TSA - new info. which is in the Legal and Political section, as is your post.

Give it a look.
