I saw a new MK9 for $510 today at a gun store. Is this a good price or to high? I need to make a decision fairly fast because they move Kahr's fast there, and I want to get it soon if the price is right. I can also get a S&W CS9 for $430 at a different store, which I know is a good price. Thanks!

Don't know your area, but around Houston that'd be a pretty decent price in a store but a bit high for a gunshow where the steel frame Kahr's run in the $425-450 ball park new, ~$350 used excellent condition as people trade them in for the lighter P series which run about $525-550 ballpark.

Good price if its got night sights though. Could be a good price in other areas of the country.

Let me get back with you on that. It may be a few weeks since I may want to wait until the local gun show in three weeks, plus I need to find an FFL to have it delivered to.

This might be self evident, but since no one else has mentioned it, are you aware of the internet gun auctions?
www.gunbroker.com
www.auctionarms.com

There's also a internet "classified" site: www.gunsamerica.com

When I want to price check for a specific gun, I run a search on that model on these sites...you can get a good feel for the "asking prices"; but be advised (gunbroker specifically) many dealers post auctions with the starting bid @ retail. They never get bids, these listings are recycled for months and months. The gunbroker search engine lets you search past auctions (up to 90 days, I think), so you can quickly see the actual sales prices on concluded auctions.

When you buy a pistol on the internet, you have to get a local FFL receive the item, so its run through bacground check, etc. My local pawn shop charges me $5-$10 for this service. Ususlly less than sales tax, if I bought the gun local.

I've bought a Kahr MK40, and K40 covert in the last few months, paid about $350 each.
