I'm going to go with 'no.'

Its not very functional on a handgun, and rail connections (IIRC) are not built to withstand the forces of bayonetting someone.

Actually the truely tactical thing would be an under-mount for a super-sawed-off 870 like they have for the AR/M-16; just imagine your breaching weapon and your handgun all together. :neener:

*** , why not a 40mm mounted to the lightrail ?
i think a 6" horizontal blade on the lightrail could be quite useful close in ...

A small blade could certainly discourage someone from reaching for your pistol.
It seems like a bullet exiting the end of the barrel might be more discouraging, though.
Holstering seems like it might suddenly require much more attention.

At the very least it would be PDC (Pretty Damn Cool ®). Well, at least one example of this would be PDC.

Just imagine somebody shoving it down the front of their pants! :what:

Well the British actually issued a bayonet for the MkVI Webley .455 revolver in WWI. And of course there was the Elgin cutlass pistol. So this is not any kind of new idea.

I've long held the idea that someone needs to make a rail mounted Laser/Light/Switchblade combo. Only then will you be turely tactical!

:D :neener: :D
