I had been planing on going to my Sig P226/9mm for IDPA. The nice High Noon rig was in, but when it came time to load the range bag, I went with the Glock 20 and .40 conversion barrel. For some reason the big Glock won't let go of me.
Shot very well for my third match. Made a few mistakes like switching to my left eye on the second and third target when shooting around the left side of the barricade.
Anyone else switch eyes when leaning way to the left?
WHO and SHO shooting were much better this time. I think I shot no points down on those stages. My new job has improved my hand strength, I think that has made a huge difference. The gun was really snapping back down from recoil nicely.
I think I'll stick with the big Glock from now on and I'll shoot full 10mm ammo next time.
I used a Glock sport/combat belt slide and it was OK although a little tight and slow. Mabey another call to High Noon is in order. That is some nice leather.
Anyone else shoot this weekend?
Anyone else like the big Glocks?
Anyone have any tips?

Yup, shot both ESP and CDP for the first time...an adventure. Did pretty well with my CZ-75B in ESP...stunk up the place with my SIG P220ST in CDP (the plates killed me) Of course non-dom' hand only from around a barricade at plates 11 yards away seemed a bit over the top ;)...did okay with the CZ-75B but those extra 8 oz. at the end of the day destroyed my CDP score.
Anyone else like the big Glocks?
My nephew has a G21...I've enjoyed it when I shot it.
Anyone have any tips?
Take your time...have fun...stay safe. For a long-winded version from this IDPA Rookie:

Also fond of shooting the large frame Glcoks in IDPA, etc.

Got tired of trying to find good used 10mm brass &/or picking out the MP-5 crap.

Put a KKM. 40 bbl. in my 20 and it's as much fun or more, plus the short stubby .40's feed from G20 mags great.

· No ‘weak hand only’ strings of fire may require the shooter to engage targets more than 7 yards distant.

from ipda rule book. Sounds like a tough match :)

...sort of...

I competed in two divisions, they somehow managed to count my CDP sheets as ESP, and didn't include my ESP results.

I won't be hiring John Edwards to sue the club or filing any "official appeal" with the Match Director. The guy that "officially won" is a practice buddy (I run into him many weekends at the IDPA bays). He knows I beat him...that's what counts :D.

That plate rack was the death knell for many (including my CDP run). I was fortunate to have a solid run with the ESP piece and happy to get the win, even if "unofficial".

Safe shooting,
