Please forgive my ignorance, but is the Glock stock now legal without an ATF stamp? I promise I searched the site but could not find anything posted after 9/14/04 on this question.

Still gotta have the stamp for a stock on a handgun. The NFA is still alive and well.

I think it is legal if you add a 16 inch barrel. I am not positive though.

Yep, someone makes a carbine kit for the pistol that does just this. Just be sure to change the barrel BEFORE you put on the stock. A MUCH better idea is just to buy the carbine kit though.

IIRC its not only an NFA violation to put it together, but to own the parts to do so. Lets say I had a short barrel for my thompson, according to the BATFE, since I own a 1927A1, it would be considered an unregisterd SBR, despite the fact I havent put it together, and have no idea how to get the bbl out. Just like you can own two SBR uppers for a form 4 M16, as long as you dont have an AR15.

So, while you'd only put the stock on it when you have the 16" bbl installed to aviod breaking any BS laws, you would still be in violation because you would still have the original barrel, the part needed to create an un-registered SBR.

I dont have any Title II toys, so I havent studied the laws thoroughly. If any of my info is worng I'm sure someone will correct me.

edited a coupla times since my hands and keyboard are getting along worse than usual...
