Okay, let's (for the sake of arguement) accept that standard velocity .45ACP Gold Dots, Golden Sabers, Ranger-Ts and Hydra-Shoks have somewhat equal terminal performance.
I wish ammolab.com was up and running.... but since it isn't:
From a 5" barrel, which have you found to have the least flash in a darkened situation?

Pretty fair question. I'd like to know myself.

I must say, I've shot them all, but most not at night.
Well, I've shot standard pressure 230 Golden Sabers at night, and the 200 Gr +P Gold Dots... less flash from the Golden Sabers but I don't know if they're really low flash....
This coming from a 124 +P Gold Dot 9mm fan... lots of flast out of a 3.9" barrel...

Doesn't have to be at night.... could maybe be noticed at many indoor ranges.
Reason for my question is that the nearest indoor range is an hour's drive away.

In my glock 30 in a indoor range with the light over the shooting position turned off.I found the federal HS's had by far the most muzzle flash, they were followed b
y the golden sabre's and then the gold dots.It was about a tie between the GS's and the GD's.
Neither one had much of a flash.

The results I've seen in my 5" 1911's, from least flash to most, are:
1) Ranger T
2) Gold Dot
3) Hydra-shok/Golden Sabre
4) Corbon
