I thought i posted on this a while ago...
but in case i didn't...
heh
(i did a rudimentary search... didn't seem to find anything .. but then again its late....)
I wanted to watch this film (fahrenheit 911) and since i was there i noticed of course - the opposite spin... fahrenhype911...
I'll say that watching the one is a whole new experience after watching the second....
Hey - i don't have kids, i understand people who have kids in the war, i understand people who don't approve of it and think its a waste of time etc... everyone is entitled to thier opinons... EVERYONE... its what SHOULD make this country great....
I just wonder when did we become so STUPID... that relatively simply hollywood tricks work on the masses. Not necessarily you and me reading/posting this post... but the people who thrust his movie into whatever bread winner it is/was and nominated/won him a award for it.
after watching the hype one... i wonder how anyone could even LOOK at the first one and think he was even CREDIBLE. Sad part is i kinda agreed w/ him on bowling for columbine - just didn't agree w/ his assumptions/evaluations at the end. I think that whole senario would have been different w/ a teacher who was armed CCW and allowed to carry there... (NOT mandatory carry for teachers... a CITIZEN who decided to go through what the law recognized as requirements for obtaining a CCW/CHL whatever... ) If i was gonna make a film - call it a documentary on politics of the time etc... i'd have to make it bulletproof... i wouldn't want ANYONE to be able to assault me on the "facts" of the documentary.... There were fare to many credible attacks on the veracity of his "documentary" to begin to think that i would appreciate MM's stance in his movie.
I'll not say HYPE addressed ALL the points -and i'll not say it didn't try to spin it... but i WILL say that its interesting how MANY things had larger meanings than what was presented in heit911....
