The small pocket revolvers are scaled down versions of the bigger colts. Everthing is smaller and affords more opportunity for spent caps to tie things up. I finally got around to modifying mine and it works very well.

Important to keep the hammer face and hammer frame cut cleaned between every cylinder full.

Decent little case set. Its a bit more challenging than the bigger Colt replicas but has its charm.

The replica bullets come out of the brass mould well formed. Seating is not particularly straight or uniform but they work pretty well within the shooter's limitations with the little bitty gun.

They are fun things to do. I've fooled around with these things for quite a few decades but only started to seriously delve them a year or so ago. It was a good time to get into them as I was pleasantly surprised by the improvement in overall quality by Uberti, Lyman Products, and several businesses related to them. Also got into a Pedersoli LePage and found good customer support there. Replacement parts are available like they never have been before and the quality and metallurgy of the parts is much improved.

A few years ago, I probably wouldn't have gotten into the Wells Fargo/ 31 pocket models, Patersons or anything other than a Colt Navy or Army Model because nobody had parts.

Even with the present quality in selected guns, you still have to get more involved in their fine tuning and maintenance than shooters of modern handguns. This is something you find out by direct experience or word of mouth as you can read a stack of magazine articles and industry generated books without finding it out.

It is kind of fun and not particularly off-putting. My own discovered capacity for fitting parts and performing modifications is proof that you don't have to be a real gunsmith or rocket scientist to get them up and running and keep them in action.

And that's almost half the fun for me. I've already tuned up my Pietta Remington NMA's using Mohave Gambler's tips. Even made some special tools for hand polishing hammer and trigger sears to keep them perpendicular.

In the back of my mind lurks a special project for one of the brass framed Remmies, if and when the frame stretches too much. I'd like to mill away sections to show how the action works and do a photo or video clip series similar to your work. But that's well down the road. Unless I can find a shot out brass frame on the net.
