I have a S&W 629 and I'm curious to when it was manufactured.
Is there an online resource?

I can't find a specific serial number on the gun.
Under the once piece grips BUC99xx is stamped on the butt
and on the left side of the near the bottom of the butt
where the grip screws on is the number C2075
with a large RG and a small s above it

when I open the cylinder it again is stamped BUC99xx
and mod 629-4
It has a solid rubber one piece grip and a 5 inch barrel
5 3/4 when measured from the from the frame to the end of the barrel.

The 629-5 starts in 1998 so maybe 1997.

What is the product code from the box it came in? As a general rule, -4's were made from @ 93-97.

This one was from a private sale unfortunately
no box or papers.

At least now I have a date range to work from.
