enfield reassembly

as if i needed to prove how much of a numbnuts i am......
so i did a complete stripdown of my newest acquisition, a nice enfield. cleaned it up, made it look all pretty. i thought to myself "i should probably pay close attention to where i take these screws out from".
the good news is that i didnt wind up with extra parts/screws when i was done. i just put a long screw where a short one was, and now i can't figure out where that long screw went that my short screw should be.
see the attached pic where i circled? thats where i have a short screw.
i got through 6 shots before that screw wiggled its way out. it catches on the threads just barely, enough that i cant loosen it with my thumb, but enough that shooting it will make it come out.
sooooo....any geniuses ahve ideas as to where i put that long screw?
no need to say it: i am a retard!
:neener:

in fact, i am so retarded, it takes me two tries to attach a pic!
luckily it only takes me two tries to figure out which hand is my right hand.

The only thing I can recall off the top of my head that used a small screw is the rear sight pivot. Of course, that's not really a screw (at laest on my Mk4No1), but is unthreaded and uses a tiny little cross-pin to hold it in place.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.

check the front sight.
I'm with andrew on this, sounds like you may have swapped the rear triggerguard screw for the one that holds the front sight protector in place (they're the only two i remember being of a similar size on MY rifle)

Just pulled my No. 4 out and had a look and I'm jumping on the front sight train.
The screws aren't THAT similar, but they seem to be the only two screws of that size.

yep! that was the one! thanks for the help.
followup question of a somewhat unrelated nature:
is it normal for the primer on a fired case to be un-flush with the base of the case?
out of the six rounds fired through the enfield, one has a primer that is coming out of the pocket, another has one just kind of out.
the second to the last shot i took, the bolt didnt want to open to eject the empty. i pulled back on the firing pin a bit and the bolt came loose. i believe thats the one with the primer coming i'd say 1/16 inch out.
also, it looks like the pin may be going too far, the hole in the primer seems a lot deeper than other cases i've shot through 8mm, 30'06, etc.
the ammo was sellor& belliot, picked up at the gunshow.

Check out this link for info on firing pin protrusion. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=106619
And you probably want to get the headspace checked.
