So how did Dan Rather manage to find Saddam and the CIA can't?

Or do they just not want to assasinate him? Would that make a martyr out of him or something that they think would backfire?

Rather did not find Saddam . . . Saddam found Rather. Too bad we didn't know where the interview was. A nice barage of cruise missles would have given us a two for one bonus.

Hannity & Colmes should be covering it pretty well tonight on the Fox News Channel at 9PM EST. Ted Nugent will be on as well. He was originally scheduled to be on Donahue tonight, but America is losing interest in extreme liberalism, apparantly, so Phil has been cancelled from MSNBC.

Brit Hume just reported that Ramsey Clark, that old commie, helped Dan.
Yuk. I need to alcohol my keyboard... :barf:

Now that could be the question of the year...I bet the CIA director would like to hire whoever hooked-up Rather with Saddam

Rather did not find Saddam . . . Saddam found Rather.Exactly. Saddam invited Rather and undoubtedly sent his lackey's to go collect him.

He probably just had to call one of his buddies at 60 Minutes. I forget who it was, but one of them interviewed the Ayatollah Khomeini a number of years back, so I'm guessing finding Saddam wasn't too hard.

That as much as any answer gets to the heart of it. People like Rather, Brokaw, Jennings, ad nauseum, in their own self-congratulatory world actually believe people like Saddam yield to their "star power." They're propaganda dupes, pure and simple, and only too willing to place a stick in the eye of the administration.
If the word got out that George Clooney or Bill Clinton wanted to interview Osama Bin Laden, we could see it by next week on prime time TV. geegee

Rather couldn't find his ******* with both hands. Yes, he is a useful idiot, which is why he got the interview.

Because Saddam knows Dan Rather as well as we know Dan Rather.

Bush really needs to accept Hussein's challenge to a debate. The CIA can probably keep track of where Bush is, and if they're both debating in the same place, that means the CIA would be able to figure out where Saddam is.

Boy, now there's a whole other thread. Can't you just see that? They'd probably have Chris Matthews or Bernard Shaw be the moderator...:barf: Couldn't you just see Saddam being treated like Michael Dukakis, when he was asked what he would do (while discussing the death penalty) if his wife was raped?
Saddam "I'd give the death penalty to the rapist, kill his family, use poison gas on his country, then rape the rapists wife."
Matthews: "But you'd still be in favor of gun control though, right? I mean, you know, to keep peace in your country?" :what: geegee

I heard somthing funny on a radio show the other morning. A reporter (Michael Evans) said that Dan Rather should of strapped explosives on and taken one for the team. Sounds good to me! :D

Rather didn't find Saddam.
It happened the other way around.

Dan Rather is a useful idiot for a murderous mad man. What else is new. The guy is so far left he isn't in touch with reality anymore!

So,...... Rather could have tipped off the CIA or some other entity as to the location. He could've worn a transmitter, planted a bug, or otherwise helped us out.
So,..... When tens of thousands of folks die to oust Sadamm, it could have been prevented? Danny Boy could've circumvented the wholesale destruction to to Iraq when our forces move in? All the folks that are soon to be tortured and/or executed by Sadaam could have been saved if only Danny ol Pal would have been a little more of a team player?
I'm not so sure Dan is that admirable given that his journalistic integrity overshadowed any sense of loyalty or even humanity. Who's team does he bat for anyway?
