I got a .22lr revolvler a while back, and cleaned it a few days ago with the .22lr rifle kit I got when I bought my Russian trainer.

So, I am opening up the kit, and start to assemble a tip to the handled-end of the rod. Oops, no go. Why? My Hoppes 8mm kit will do it, why wont the Hoppes .22lr kit? Why should I have to buy a pistol kit to do that? How many freaking cleaning kits should a man have to buy? Do these people know how hard it is to grip a rod-end without a handle, when your hand has Hoppes and oil on it?:banghead: :cuss:

I know ! You'd think they would use the same threads for the entire rifle rod set as they use for the cleaning attachments. Unfortunately with the rifle kit only one of the three rods accept the jag, patch, brush tools. I had to invest in a pistol length rod to solve the problem.

Friends don't let friends use those jointed aluminum cleaning rods. They'll tear up your stuff.

Bore snakes are a wonderful idea; unfortunately, they don't get guns clean.
