I am going to be taking them on with a bolt action .22. How in the name of merciful Zues do I hunt them, and if it will be at night as I suspect it will, what is a source of cheap but effictive night vission stuff $120 limit.

Be careful and make sure you read all of the regulations. I grew up in WI and when we hunted them, it was not legal to just walk around and shine flashlights up in the trees looking for them. You could only point your lights up at the point of kill. This generally involves using dogs to tree them. And I would also be very surpised if it was legal to use night vision equipment to hunt them too. One of my brothers found out the hard way that it was not legal to walk around looking for them with a light.

The dog tree's them and bays. you come and then shine the light. I don't see why NV would be outlawed but some states just have it in their reg's. Don't go wandering for them. It actually is more fun with the dog. trust me. Let him do the "legwork".
