I looked at a Smith 386 and I want one. I know it is recoil monster of unbelievable power, but I want one.......
I love that Hi-Viz sight.

Any input on them is appreciated.

TIA,
Delta

I have one. No bullets under 120gr(357mag). Purchase every brand of ammo to see which ones do not "pull" out during recoil. Extra care in cleaning so as not to take the coating off. Can not work on frame, cylinder or barrel shroud(like polishing or chamferring). Oh, and did I mention OOUUCHH!!!

I have put several hundred rounds of ammo through it including 38 wadcutters, 38 special +P, and 357. My experience has been that both the mild 38 and the +P were easy to handle. Of course there was substantial recoil from the .357 stuff but not the finger twisting, wrist wrenching, hand shattering experience that I had been been reading about. IMHO the 386 is one of those guns that is meant to be carried a lot and shot a little. However, in my personal experience it has just not been all that bad. As to its characteristics as a concealed carry gun. Terrific! Light, easy to conceal, and a very comfortable carry in a FIST #1 IWB. FWIW. Good shooting;)
