I need some advise on cleaning my scope. I have a 4-8X42 POSP belarus scope. What is the best way to clean the lenses?

And the scope has a black spec on the exit pupil( not the lense I look into). How do I remove the spec without scratching the lense? The spec might be some of the gummy sealant from around the lense, but then again, sometimes a might is on a chicken's butt! Any Ideas would be helpful.

I follow the instructions in my scope literature, viz., clean the scope as I would a camera lens.

First I blast the scope with compressed air. The same air I use to clean the dust bunnies out of my computer.

Then, I use lens cleaning fluid and lens cleaning tissue (available at your photog shop or even Walmart) and lightly clean the lens.

If there is any debris left, I repeat step number 2.
