not exactly NORTH of houston, but the closest to houston i've found, with the most developed "structures" is Texas Historical Shootists Society in coloumbus here's the website (http://www.thss.org/) . there is one that is closer in but from what i've been told about range placement, it's not long for it's location (too close to "civilization") and quite frankly is a bit too clsoe to a subdivision for my taste. the next one to check out after THSS would be the Tejas Pistoleroes (group i've been afiliated with since i started in SASS. ) over in eagle lake website (http://www.tejaspistoleros.com/) great bunch of guys, would give you the shirt off their backs if it'd get you shooting with em (and they'd certainly loan you any firearms you need for a match).
well hope to have been of help.
