I have a SA XD9 in the 4" service model. It's been a great pistol for me. Range use only and its been very accurate. I got mine about 6 month's ago for $409.00, but SA was promoting them very heavily back then and I believe they were offering very good costing to there big dealers. $449.00 may be a good price but I'd check out Gun Broker.com .

The XD 9 goes for $450 in CA. That price is a little steep for TN from what I understand.

The gun has performed well for me. 1 or 2 jams over a year of pretty steady use. I did have two issues that needed to be fixed though. One, the locking blocked chipped where the locking lug comes in contact with it. SA replaced it without trouble. Two, the firing pin retainer roll pin on mine cracked (from dry firing I think), but SA sent me out a new one without issue.

One last thing, the finish on the gun is for me fine, but others have reported rusting. It also wears pretty fast, so expect holster wear etc... A good CLP, or some other rust prevention should be used.

Xd9's service models run about 449.00 in my part of KY. I really like mine.

If it comes with 2 full capacity magazines I'd snatch it up. You won't be sorry. They are easy to shoot well and very accurate in my opinion.

$449 sounds a little high, but prices may have gone up since I bought mine. BTW, I like my Glock better.

I have a Khar K40 and 2 Sig 229's in .40. I carry a Springfield XD Subcompact 9mm everyday, everywhere. It is accurate, small, light and just fits me to a "T". I absolutely love the thing. It is my favorite pistol to pack.

The Kahr is gonna be sold to finance another XD. The Sigs are for work, so they stay.

The finish on them is okay, the rust (if you let it happen) wipes off with no pitting. I plan on getting a stainless model this next time.

I have an XD-40 4" stainless and it has been a very good pistol, accurate and problem free.

A local dealer here wants $439.99 for a new subcompact 9mm. Sounds like yours is in the ballpark. I shot a subcompact about 6 months back and did real well with it so accuracy does not seem to be an issue.

You should like the gun if you buy it. I have a 4" service model in .40S&W with night sights, it's my favorite non-FN/Browning pistol, so far.

I have the XD in 40 and 357sig. An amazing weapon that IMHO outperforms Glock. It is dead on accurate, easy operation/takedown, and fits my hand better that anything out there. For theprice, you absolutley cannot go wrong.
