(Hope I get these facts all right-I'm from Arkansas but not in his congressional district.)
Our own Vern Humphrey was defeated in his bid to become (R) state rep in Arkansas.
I appreciate the didication of folks like this to do all that has to be done to run for political office. It is not easy in time, money, effort nor emotional investment. Our country would be a better place if many more of us were more involved. Thanks Vern!
BTW, unlike many other races decided in this election, this one was run on a much higher plane than most. Another credit to 'our guy'!
Also, NEVER believe that the loss of an election like this does not have positive influence on things. The good showing of one on 'our side' helps to temper the excesses of the other side by showing that there a lot of people who do not support some of their more radical tendancies.
