I'd be very suprised if Edwards is ever heard from again on a political stage. He had only ran in one campaign prior to this one. I don't think loosing sets very well with him. To many ambulances to chase, and easier to catch.:uhoh:

Yes, the Donny Osmond look alike lost his seat.
Not that he did anything for us over the past 6 years ....
The winner, Richard Burr, is highly regarded by both the NRA and GRNC (Grass Roots NC, who often disagrees with the NRA on ratings)
I think that GOA gave Burr a high rating, too.

Gee, ya think he might appologize now to all the hunters he offended when he "confessed his sin" of hunting squirrels as a boy, and deeply regrets it, to the bunny-hugger lobby to get the nod for VP?

Edwards did not lose his seat; he wasn't running for Senate.
Erskine "I Like Bill" Bowles lost vs Richard Burr.

Edwards resigned his seat to run for the V.P.
If only Kerry had done the same thing....

Only problem is that now he'll return to being a trial lawyer and can still do a lot more damage to the country.
The time is right for real tort reform and protection from bogus product liability suits for gun makers. Any takers for my bet that Tort Boy will file one himself?

Well, he didn't lose it in a runoff or anything. It's been pretty much known for the past 1-2 years that he wasn't going to run again because he knew he wouldn't get reelected. But anyways, he left, and Burr took his spot :D

No need to apologize for feeling that hunting is morally wrong. His conscience is his concern (assuming he meant what he said--never can tell with politicians).

Actually, he's still our senior Senator, until January. He decided not to seek re-election. I hope we wouldn't have re-elected him, but...
He can still vote (although he doesn't do much to earn his pay, in that regard).

If Kerry picked Edwards to help with the Southern vote, he made a big mistake. I doubt if Edwards would have been reelected to his senate seat...(of course, he'd need directions to find it since he hardly ever sat in it). Not only did they not carry NC, but they lost in Wake County, where Kerry lives. The vote count was 172,563 (Bush) to 162,750 (Kerry/Edwards). Things are bad when you lose in your hometown by 9,813 votes. Burr GOOD, Edwards BAD!!!
