Does anyone know the thread pattern for a Mossberg 500 plain barrel front bead?
It's the 8 shot model with a brass bead front sight.

Thanks!

I believe all mossberg shotguns use 5-40 thread for the front bead sights. Thats the tread i used on my new sight and it seemed right. it screwed in by hand fine. be sure to use some thread locker. Major

I used a 1/4" drive socket and one of the screwdriver type handles with the 1/4" drive ends instead of the socket wrench. Both the 4mm and the 5/32 seemed to fit about the same so i think you would be ok with either one. If you have one smaller try that first maybe you can get a tighter fit. It doesnt take much to get one off there are not too many threads to hold it in there. if you feel like you might ring it off go ahead and add some heat maybe yours has some type of thread locker on it. if you want to i dont see why an adjustable or regular wrench wouldnt work i just like the socket because it covered all the edges for the best grip.
