I have a model 94 30-30. Top ejection, no cross-bolt safety, made in 1973. I believe the reciever is already drilled and tapped (two holes on the left side of the reciever about an inch or so apart with screws in them)? What I would like to know is what factory reciever sights can I buy that will mount directly into the pre-drilled holes? I was looking at the Lyman 66A and the Williams 5D economy sights. I thought they would work and then I did enough research to confuse myself and thought the 5D had different mounts.

The rifle is on "indefinite loan" from my father-in-law. Gave it to me for my first deer hunt last year and said he didn't need it back(did I mention he's a great guy.) He said I could have it drilled and tapped for a scope mount, but I would rather use the existing holes if possible. It's a great little rifle, I'd just like to have the peep sight on it.

Thanks for any replies in advance and take it easy.

I think those are the correct choices, depending on which brand you decide to go with.
I may add one to my original 1951 Model 94 as I don't see that it would ruin the gun in any way.
Good Luck and congratulations on your loan...:)
