Communist Sister-in-law

Well, my volvo driving, demoncRAT voting, yuppie sister in law joined in to ANSWER's electronic march on Washington today. In spite of the fact that her Dad is a Citadel Grad and former paratrooper and her sister (my wife) is a USN intell officer. In spite of the fact that her bro-in law (me) is a former USMC rifle man, former USN NFO, current USN M.D.
She made a point of contacting her senator Ted (Chapaquiddick) Kennedy. No suprises there.

Sorry. :(
If it's any consolation, some people are brain damaged from birth from not getting enough oxygen to the brain due to delivery complications.
I'm very proud of you and all the rest of your family you talked about! :neener:

Don't let it raise your blood pressure...there's no accounting for willful stupidity.
Next time you see her, ask her if she'd like to attend one of Teddy's parties in the vicinity of Chappaquidick...

uh, not to put it too directly, but:
nobody gets to pick their relatives. Your friends yes, your nose, maybe, but not your relatives. I have a sister who is a social worker and who actually BELIEVES everything hillary clinton says. without question. and this woman has a masters degree. ack! all I can tell you NavyDoc is:
a. be glad that particular genetic whatever went *away* from your wife and toward her sister.
and
b. you're already smart enough to get out of dodge, er, maryland as soon as possible, and NOT head for MA, so in the meantime just be glad she's as far away as she is.

Just be glad she's in MA.
That way she can't do any more damage.

Some folks don't listen to reason until reality comes to bite them on the backside! It ain't worth losing sleep over it.

The CORRECT way to reply of course is to get some postercard... and make a sign that says:
"I enjoy being a victim, I don't believe in self-defense, and if any war occurs, I will always side with the Cheeze-Eating Surrender Monkeys, the French."
Make her that sign, and have her hang it on her door.. You know, let her be PROUD of her stance...
If she doesn't like that sign, make her a sign that says...
"Hitler made the Jews a few shower stalls, it shows he cares. Saddem is making Kuwaities some showers as well, he wants to show that he cares too."
Let her pick, or better yet, hang up both!:barf:
I use to have a Pinko Commie girlfriend. Got rid of her and bought an M1A. Now I have a libertarian girlfriend who recently has been facinated with SA revolvers... Trust me, life is better..

It sounds that my immediate family is by and large like yours. There are those that served (me included GO NAVY ) and those that have not.
Everyone who has not served seems to degrade or minimize the views of those in my family who have. I suspect they are filled with envy and won't admit it. Then they go against reason to justify their lack of service to our country (as if I care one way or another).
This becomes even more prevalant when a few of us get together and "talk Navy all night".
Just goes to show that if you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything Libs: :barf: :barf: :barf:

Wow. Logged in to see all these replies. Places I've been stationed: USMC Cmp Lejune (0311), Then USNA. Traron 10, NATU, VP-30, VP-1, Patwing 10, Med School (U of Michigan), then NNMC. Speciality: ANesthesia.
She sometimes says that she is afraid of me wich is really messed up because I save more lives on a daily basis than her Sokker mom heroes do in entire collective lifetimes! Of course the upside is that if she is worried about me, I won't be asked to babysit her brats anytime soon!
Her Dad just rolls his eyes and changes any conversation to the merits of 55grain m855 to the ss109. That really gets her panties in a wad. Then we share some Single malt and light up a cigar and she flees into the night. LOL.
He'll say that he agrees with her and that we shouldn't invade Iraq..........we should NUKE 'EM FROM Orbit instead!
He cracks me up. http://www.navysportsphotos.com/images/football/12702/Postgame12702A.jpg

When were you at Portsmouth Naval Hospital?
The old hospital building is an interesting place. I don't know if its true, but scuttlebutt was that the dome at top of the old building was the OR when it was new. Supposedly they could get alot of light in there as the bronze dome was all polished up inside. I don't know if its true because I never got to see the inside of that part of the building.

Hey NavyDoc!
Try this on your SIL:
Run a central line, with several bags of NS, bolus and piggy back it with 250cc of "get a clue"! Might work.
BTW, from a former HM3...
GO NAVY!

1984-85 Internship
1986-88 IM residency
1990-1992 GI fellowship
The Old Hospial is a pre-civil war structure. Basement was a brig for awhile. The dome you recall was indeed the skylight for the OR in the old days. My first 2 kids were born in the Old Hospital. Used to live in Olde Town on London Blvd. Fond memories.

I'm personally of the opinion that you need one of these people in EVERY family.
Why?
So someone can be the object of TOTAL scorn and revulsion at the next family gathering.
