I think he means one of the new Kahr (Auto Ordnance) M1 Carbines.

I saw one at a gun show a few weeks back. If my memory is accurate, it was around $550.

Yeah, I bought a great condition 1945 Inland M1 Carbine for $650 about 6 months ago. That's not much more than an AO.
