My 11 year old son took his first deer with a muzzle loader yesterday. T/C Renegade with open sights and shooting the traditional 50 cal patched ball. The season has been kind to us thus far and the freezer is filling up fast.
Have you ever seen seen a happier boy. I was proud of him. He hit a little high and to the right and as a result he had to track him "Indian style" from blood drop to blood drop. I let him do it all except dragging it out. That just about killed me, we hunt in a VERY hilly areas.

Congratulations young man, well done!
Dad,
It's quite a job dragging, but he'll remember the experience the rest of his life. He may even drag one for you someday. You're doing a fine job raising the boy!

This is the Huntin' section.. We ASSUME the deer is dead; not like Home and Garden..
;)
Nice lookin' boy you got there, and a good first deer. He's got a ear-to-ear grin on him. Startin'em young is the way to do it.
Congratulations to your son and to you also.It is a comforting thing, knowingthat people are raising their kids right.Of course,on this forum, that is no surprise.Good on the two of you. :)

Every time I see a young boy with his 1st deer I am reminded of my 1st one. It's one of my most precious memories. That is so cool. Tell him we all said congrats.

Not to flame you,but I dont think the (warning) is neccessary prior to posting a pic or anything else on this particular board.I can only speak for myself ,but I think it kind of goes against what Me and perhaps others expect of this board.Dont get me wrong,it is a considerate gesture but it just doesn't seem appropriate.Kinda like dont go to a "Gentleman's Club" if you dont want to see what's inside.I hope you understand what I'm getting at. I truly dont want to hassle you or give you a hard time, just giving my opinion.
As for the deer your boy took,Awesome job!!! Will be glad when my sons take there first one.Maybe this year.Good luck the rest of the season.
