Steyr club over at www.glocktalk.com
Haven't had any problems with mine, unless you want to count the scarcity of full cap magazines.

My Steyr M9 has been flawless, except that it likes to eject spent casing near or on top of my head. But I have never detail stripped the slide, so I'm going to try that next.

My M40 should be arriving at a local gunshop any day now... have yet to fire one, but looking forward to it.
Was kinda hoping someone would start carrying a taclight/laser rig that would work on the Steyr 1st gen rails, but now that the new Steyrs are out and have a more standard rail on them, I guess the chances of that are slim to none. Anybody have a machinist buddy looking to make a couple bucks off a small target audience of Steyr M and S owners?

I like them very much.
I had a M9 and I liked it very much. I traded it two years ago. If they ever ship Full caps for them, I might get another. The trigger on the one I had was VERY nice for a polymer gun. Much nicer than my Glocks.
Mine had the same cases on the noggin problem that hartzpad mentioned. Thats not a big deal to me though.

Yeah, seen that. Just seems an awkward way to do it: your spending $70 or so after shipping to add an extra three quarters of an inch or so beyond what's needed to attach the accessories... ends up with a clunky package, no?
Seems like the little clips off the top of that would do the job just fine if they were on the top of some 1" rings or something, ya know?
Maybe I'll do some tinkering on my own when I get the thing. Just need to find a way to tinker without marring the finish to much... and without having to spend the $70 or so for a RedGun version to experiment on, either... although given the choice of spending $70 on the pitcanny adapter versus spending it on the RedGun, I'd get the RedGun. Do some more training. Kinda wish there were an airsoft version of the Steyr for playing around with HD scenerios at home, testing out accessory setups, etc.
Anybody sees a gas-blowback Steyr M or S series airsoft gun, let us know!

My GB is a hoot at the range. I full 'er up and touch off 19 rounds, one after another, and, when done, somebody always asks "What *is* that?"

I own M9, M357, M40,S9. and S40. I really love the 40 S&W ones best and the S40 is my all time favorite. They are all quite accurate and sometimes with the right ammo exceptionally accurate. My M9 has the habit of ejecting brass at my head but once I got past about 500 rounds through it getting hit with the brass is getting less and less frequent. I shoot a lot of cast bullet reloads through the 40s and 9s and have been very pleased. The M9 with truncated cone lead bullets will shoot into a single hole at the 50' indoor range. They are excellent guns at a very good price right now and I highly recommend them. :)

I have a small page. all the info you want is at steyrclub section of glocktalk

the normal cap mag situation sucks right now. M40 12 round mags availible for $30. 10 round mags are $15 for all of the steyr M&S series. can convert 10 round M40 mags to 12 round M9 mags.
40S&W sigma mags can be converted to steyr M&S series.
M series mags work in S. sigma mags going for $10-$15 though needs new mag catch.
love my M9 and M40 though M9 used to put a ejected casing on my head. wear a ball cap to help with that. someone said he got hit in face with brass only 1 guy though. the design is pretty nice. for the money nice pistol.
room left to be desired in warranty dept. slow.
if you like them and it fits you good chances are you might not be able to just buy one. that has happened to more than a few people. :uhoh:
the rail adapter is nice I have one and like it. doesnt add much weight, slight difference. can get metal guide rod though no springs known of yet outside of factory. need new holster though. I take heart in knowing they overbuilt the rail some. its going no where when it shouldnt.
2xM9's,2xM40's. try and keep them locked up seperate so they dont make any more of themselves. the New MA1's are slowly showing up. priced like its made of gold though.

I liked the one I held at a show once, but other than that one time, it's the only one I have seen locally. CDNN would be the only place to get it...
Don't need another gun... repeat!
