After you click on "New Posts" and checked on the new news there should be a place to mark them all as "mark forums as read" instead of going back to the main page after checking in on all the new posts and have click back several times. Unless there is some way to mark them read when your done reading besides going back to the main page.

Quick Links, at the top of every page, includes Mark Forums Read. Yes, you do have to scroll back to the top of the page you are on and click on Quick Links, but it's there on every page.
