I have an opportunity to buy a S&W Performance Center Model 29-4 (.44 Mag, of course) with 3" barrel and unfluted cylinder. Beautiful gun.

Anyone have any info on these? What would it be worth?

Out here in kali it probably goes for about $1100. It's little brother in .357 (the model 627) sells for about $1000 out here. Deduct about 15% and you will probably have the price the rest of the world gets them for.

EDIT: I was assuming it's the one with the compensator?

If it is just a blue model 29 that the PC has done a trigger job on, I'd say it's worth maybe $500 - $600 depending on use and condition.

I don't remember -- I assume so. I am going to go look at it again this evening. Is this a relatively new release from the PC?

Based on what you are telling me, is sounds like its offered at a very good price -- less than $500.

I think the stainless 629 with compensator and the 627 are fairly new (like a few years?). If it is a blue 29, it could be older.

Mine's a regular model 629-5 rather than a custom shop model. I've had some custom work done on it, but it left the factory as a plain N frame snub.

She's a shooter!
