An Open Letter To The Hollywood Bunch

Ok let’s just say for a moment you bunch of pampered, overpaid,
unrealistic children had your way and the U.S.A. didn’t go into Iraq.

Let’s say that you really get your way and we destroy all our nuclear
weapons and stick daisies in our gun barrels and sit around with some
white wine and cheese and pat ourselves on the back, so proud of what
we’ve done for world peace.

Let’s say that we cut the military budget to just enough to keep the
National Guard on hand to help out with floods and fires.

Let’s say that we close down our military bases all over the world and
bring the troops home, increase our foreign aid and drop all the trade
sanctions against everybody.

I suppose that in your fantasy world this would create a utopian world
where everybody would live in peace. After all, the great monster, the
United States of America, the cause of all the world’s trouble would
have disbanded it’s horrible military and certainly all the other
countries of the world would follow suit.

After all, they only arm themselves to defend their countries from the
mean old U.S.A.

Why you bunch of pitiful, hypocritical, idiotic, spoiled mugwumps.
get your head out of the sand and smell the Trade Towers burning.
Do you think that a trip to Iraq by Sean Penn did anything but encourage
a wanton murderer to think that the people of the U.S.A. didn’t have the
nerve or the guts to fight him?

Barbra Streisand’s fanatical and hateful rankings about George Bush
makes about as much sense as Michael Jackson hanging a baby over a
railing.

You people need to get out of Hollywood once in a while and get out into
the real world. You’d be surprised at the hostility you would find out
here.
Stop in at a truck stop and tell an overworked, long distance truck
driver that you don’t think Saddam Hussein is doing anything wrong.

Tell a farmer with a couple of sons in the military that you think the
United States has no right to defend itself.

Go down to Baxley, Georgia and hold an anti-war rally and see what the
folks down there think about you.

You people are some of the most disgusting examples of a waste of
protoplasm I’ve ever had the displeasure to hear about.

Sean Penn, you’re a traitor to the United States of America. You gave
aid and comfort to the enemy. How many American lives will your
little, ”fact finding trip“ to Iraq cost? You encouraged Saddam to
think that we didn’t have the stomach for war.

You people protect one of the most evil men on the face of this earth
and won’t lift a finger to save the life of an unborn baby. Freedom of
choice you say?

Well I’m going to exercise some freedom of choice of my own. If I see
any of your names on a marquee, I’m going to boycott the movie. I will
completely stop going to movies if I have to. In most cases it
certainly wouldn’t be much of a loss.

You scoff at our military who’s boots you’re not even worthy to shine.
They go to battle and risk their lives so ingrates like you can live in
luxury.
The day of reckoning is coming when you will be faced with the
undeniable truth that the war against Saddam Hussein is the war on
terrorism.

America is in imminent danger. You’re either for her or against her.
There is no middle ground.

I think we all know where you stand.

What do you think?

God Bless America

Did Charlie Daniels really say that America brought 9-11 on itself b/c of all the sinning going on in America? Heard that he did, but never heard it from him.

If one of them is a director, producer, etc., the movie gets boycotted.

Charlie could rewrite "Simple Man" till it went like this here:

"Take Saddam in the Swamp, tie him to a stump,
Let the bugs and the bears and the alligator's do the rest..."

No, I believe that was Pat Robertson who said that.

I'm really kind of disappointed in that letter, Delta.

I wish he'd just come out and say what he thinks instead of dancing around the point like it was a ballet or something!

It was Jerry Falwell... http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/falwell-robertson-wtc.htm Pat Robertson just agreed with it.

Both men spoke harshly of the terrorists and clearly blamed them for the attacks.__

During a discussion about whether this crisis might bring revival to America, Jerry Falwell said God may have allowed what the nation deserved because of moral decay and said Americans should have an attitude of repentance before God and asking for God's protection._ He specifically listed the ACLU, abortionists, feminists, gays, and the People For the American way as sharing in the blame._ Pat Robertson responded with agreement.

PATH-- I hate to tell ya, but you pretty much have to be born to it, or transplanted before puberty.

To Quote Charlie,
You can take a boy out of the country, but it's h$!! gettin' all the country out of the boy.

And vice versa.

Thanks for the clarification, Frohickey.

Both Falwell and Roberts tend to engage their mouths before putting the brain into "D".

'Course, I've been guilty of that myself. ;)

Not so, FM! With a determined enough effort, associating with the "right" people and sticking to it for years, you can convert. Sorta like a naturization process without .gov involvement. :D

Hello. Mr. Daniels not only has a realistic view of the US/Iraq situation, but he's a strong supporter of the Second Amendment.
A couple of years ago, he was a most-ardent guest speaker at a Texas State Rifle Association annual meeting.

I like him and his music.

Best.

A redneck is kinda like an American. Redneck is a state of mind just like being an American. I've dealt with Rednecks from Hawthorne, NJ as well as Washington, NC. They all tend to be independent minded and not really concerned with what other people think. I've met redneck preachers and attorneys. I know redneck military officers and salesmen.

Look well past the appearance issues. Redneck is a state of mind; just like being an American is a state of mind.

Hey, does that mean only rednecks are Americans?

I'm confused. Barbra Streisand voices an anti-war opinion, and everyone derides her as an idiot entertainer and her ideas are not as valuable as people who actually study foreign policy.

I think you know where I'm going with this...

ahadams
March 1, 2003, 10:14 PM
y'see we're supporting somebody we agree with who is taking a stand in spite of the fact that the record company he has contracts with (among others) has left wing twits in control who probably agree with bawbwa stweisand...y'know?

and anyway he's right and he would still make a great ambassador to the UN.

I may not have been too clear, either.

I am saying most people on this board seem to like Charlie Daniels, and agree with Charlie Daniels, and thus think it's great that he is "standing up" and voicing his "conservative" opinion...all despite that fact that he is a country music singer/artist.

By the unwritten rules set down for "liberal trash" Hollywood entertainers, he shouldn't be voicing an opinion on Iraq, should he?

Does he support the RKBA? Good for him. Is Ms. Streisand an idiot? More than likely. Would I listen to either of them if I were in charge of American foreign policy? I don't think so. I guess I am proposing "goose and gander" rules of engagement here. If lefty actors/musicians have to shut their pieholes about Iraq, then "righty" actors/musicians have to zip it as well. Sound fair?

BTW, I would probably make an exception for former senator Fred Thompson, since well, he was a Senator and legal counsellor long before he was an actor.

So, what do y'all think?

PS I count myself as partially agro, since I grew up in Oklahoma and say "y'all" and can drive tractors and combines. even if I am from the 'burbs.
