Is there a DAO pistol which feels like a CZ75?

I once gripped a TZ75, a CZ75 copy, and it felt perfect. I like double action only pistols. Is there a 9MM, .40 S&W, or 45 ACP full-size, all steel, double action only pistol which feels like a CZ75?

A Kahr has the same grip angle. It's narrower, but it feels pretty good too. Give it a try.

HP-DAO
The superior ergonomics and simple design of John M. Browning's original Hi-Power in a double action only format that some law enforcement organizations require. It is an ideal weapon for departments transitioning from revolvers to autoloaders. The HP-DAO will only allow double action firing. The cocked hammer position and decocking lever have been eliminated.

HP-DAO Compact
The superior ergonomics and simple design of John M. Browning's original Hi-Power in a double action only format that some law enforcement organizations require. It is an ideal weapon for departments transitioning from revolvers to autoloaders. The HP-DAO Compact is truly ambidextrous and a firing pin safety prevents it from accidentally firing when dropped.

HP-SFS [ Safe-Fast-Shooting ]
The HP-SFS is the only patented system in the world that combines the performances of the single action and double action pistol mechanisms without any of their disadvantages. Carrying the pistol safely with a cartridge in the chamber is the basic principle of the HP-SFS. The hammer is permanently in the double action mode, although the weapon always fires in single action position, allowing the shooter to fire quickly and be more accurate from the first shot.

CZ can be had or converted to DAO.
HK LEM trigger is really nice. SIG's new K-trigger (or whatever it's called) is rumored to be similar.
A Beretta 92 DAO I tried was absolutely fabulous.
Kahr is slimmer, less capacity, but nice.
All of the above have similar grip angle to the CZ.

Buy a CZ-75 or CZ-85 in the caliber of your choice and grind the full cock notch off the hammer. Presto: a DAO CZ that feels exactly like a CZ. A gunsmith could probably do this for you for about $20. You may want to buy a second hammer for the "DAO" mod and keep the original in case you want to restore it to stock. I have a DAO hammer for my Beretta 92 as well as the standard one and also an SAO trigger system I like for speed shooting.

CZ makes a DAO version of the 75B.
Sphinx makes an exquisite DAO version of the 75B. (Be prepared to pay big bucks, but its probably worth it.)
The disadvantage of a DAO 75B-based gun, however, is that the design has a relatively long trigger pull, and DAO makes the long trigger especially noticeable.

I don't see a DAO version of the 75B on CZ's web site. The CZ-100 is a DAO (but I'm not interested).
What is the DA trigger pull weight for the average 75B?

You'll have to hunt around for a DAO CZ. It may be cheaper and quicker to do as suggested, and buy an extra hammer.
I've personally seen two DAO CZ (from the factory, without safeties), and you'll find them on the CZ Forum or the various gun auctions from time to time. I've even seen one advertized here, in the classified area, a while back.
I didn't measure trigger weight, but would expect it to be about the same as standard DA/SA model -- 8-10 pounds. (Which is OK if its smooth.) It can be lightened with a lighter Wolff hammer spring.
DAO CZs don't have good resale value -- so getting the second hammer and having it modified makes a lot of sense.

Hmmm... That HP-DAO Compact is a fine looking unit. I like that. Don't know about calling it an HP though.

I have one in .40 paid $279. It was made in 2000 I heard it was what was over-run of some police/military contract. Someone here or on cz forum was thinking about getting one and everyone was telling them not to even though it was $289. I really like mine I carry it everyday and shoot IDPA with it, I droped in a lighter hammer spring and the trigger is a little lighter, smooth as glass and consistent all the way through not springy or stagy like my kel tec or some of those other plastic pistols.

I'm pretty sure that you should get one, test it out, and write a nice review so that I'll know if it's something I should pick up.
ETA: I just checked the catalog, they also have a compact in DA/SA for $299, THAT's the pistol you should review, depending on the trigger, I might replace my S40 with one of those sometimes.

Just a thought.....if your looking for a nice trigger....the HP DA guns are NOT what you want. The Compact I owned and the 2 others Ive shot had a very low point of the guns.....the triggers. Quite dissapointing as the rest of the guns were superb.
Shoot well.

Sig P225, I've always thought it feels similar to the 75D PCR.
