I ...AM.....gettin a Savage .223. Have looked at the BVSS which is the laminate stock hvy bbl.
I can ORDER the 12FV which is the heavy bbl but NOT stainless or fluted.
Both 26"
But the 12FV is composite and ......lighter.
Think the composite would be as good holding zero as the laminate?
The 12FV is also about 100+ dollars LESS than the BVSS.

I am thinking the weight savings would be worth it and the barrels look about equally heavy.

GOTTA be the Savage. After dry clickin that Accutrigger, it's the ONLY one I want.

The BV uses a molded stock made of glass filled nylon made by Choate. The forend is not rigid and can contact the barrel, causing accuracy to degrade.

I have 4 Savages. 3 had the molded factory stock and those were replaced with Sharp Shooters Supply stocks with aluminum bedding block, fiberglass shell and foam core. My most recent purchase was a BVSS. It is close to perfection right out of the box.

I chose the Varminter. Stainless, Fluted, 26", .223, laminated.

Yummy.

Now gotta wait 10 days.......correction......9 days 19 hours.

:D

AND.....wonder of wonders! My old old OLD Bausch & Lomb mounts from a M70 Win FIT da Savage. Now I kin use my Balvar 8 that is still better than 99% of the scopes in the world.
