Hi All,
It bugs me when my butt cuff on my 870 slides all over the place. I remember seeing a butt cuff in a gun shop that looked like it was made of neopreme or somthing and seemed like it would stay in place (tacky), but now I can't find it. I don't remember the brand.
Does this ring a bell with anyone hear?
Thanks!

There are some neopreme butt cuffs, maybe Butlercreek? I think Cabelas used to carry them. I am sure they would hold their shape and not slide, as quickly as the elastic ones do.
You can loosen recoil pad, tuck in some of the butt cuff and tighten down the recoil pad again. Or if your shotgun has a sling swivel stud, burn/melt a hole and then but it over the stud. I have seen both done that will keep it in place for quite awhile.

This one from Blackhawk has a strap that goes around the rear of the buttstock to prevent movement from recoil: http://store.botachtactical.com/blachaw52.html

This issue came up on this board a few years ago and another poster suggested loosening the recoil pad, pulling the cuff back and securing the edge of the butt cuff between the recoil pad and the stock. I've tried it and once the pad is retightened, the butt cuff remains in one place.

Check out the Eagle Industries products. I have one on my 870 and my BDL.

Uncle Mikes makes a neopreme one that holds five shells. You can pick one up at cheaperthandirt.com for around 5 bucks.

I like the Tactical Tailor cuff:

I've used it quite a bit in class and competition and it stays put - and like other TT products it is very well made.

Put four or five rubber bands around the stock under the cuff. Works.

I use a small strip of grip tape on each side of the stock. Works great!

I picked up a black leather Galco cuff for my 870, it laced on, and stayed there. I picked it up for $15 out of a junk box, found out they're around $40 new though mal

I would pony up the cash and get a Milt Sparks one if you want a quality cuff.

I have never had a problem with the Eagle Industries butt cuffs slipping on either my BDL or my 870. Both have synthetic stocks and the stocks are about the same size.

You can also use adhesive backed velcro strips that are available from fabric stores.
Velcro the butt cuff to the stock and it won't go anywhere.

Butt-Cuff retention tip #35-- Take some rubber cement and coat the inside of the butt cuff before securing on the stock. I have done that on my 870 with a synthetic stock. If you decide to remove the cuff the RC rubs right off.

I like the Milt Sparks leather lace-on cuffs. The nylon Eagle or Blackhawk cuffs with the straps over the recoil pad are good, too.
