I'm about ready to hand in my application (my 21 birthday is next month so I have to wait until then)

did anyone ever get denied on the NYC handgun license?

I'm a little worried if I fill in everything currectly...since I'm spending big bucks for this I don't want to blow it($255.00 NYPD + $74.00 NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services)

Also where to get training in the City? perhaps a link or two will help.

It's always been my understanding that it was pointless to try in NYC.

NYC makes it extremely hard to get a firearm. Best bet is to move to a friendlier county outside of NYC. It can be a real horror show in NYC!

Yes....people can be denied....for legal reasons...criminal record and what not...If you have been arrested FOR ANYTHING do not try and hide it ...they will find out....if the incident was minor you will be o.k......but they cannot deny you for no good reason like forgetting to fill in one of the blanks....When you hand in the forms double check with one of the officers and make sure you did not forget anything ....if you do forget it will just take longer.....they will contact you...and drag it along.....but you will get it
I recently got my nuts busted here for saying it's not that hard to get a handgun permit here in NYC......If I knew that my statement was going to be recieved the way it was I would have made the context of my statement more clear.

I am serious....you have every right as a law abiding citizen to own a handgun and you must be aggresive if you are being treated illegaly.........Don't sweat it ...just be patient...I know ..it stinks....but you'll be fine.....next year at this time you will be even more enthusiastic than you are now.... once you get a taste of it.....you are hooked:)

You will forever be envious of the out of state guys and gals that live in pro gun states....not only is it easier to buy toy's ....but they are allowed to own stuff that you will never get the chance to....as long as you stay in the big apple.

thanks sonny and the others.. I think I can't be denied since I have never been arrested or did anything illegal..

that range is soo expensive:( I guess we have to pay to live in the city afterall...

<---dreaming oneday that we can get a CCW in the city...:p
