M-1 woes

Today, my M-1 had multiple failure to fires, and eventually it wouldn't fire at all. The primers weren't even being tapped. So, I disassembled it, and the broken firing pin shaft fell out :( . I need a replacement, where can I get one?

PS: It was Korean M2 ammo, if that has anything to do with it.

You just got this a week or two from the CMP, right? Give them a call--I'm sure they'd be happy to send you a replacement.

"...I need a replacement, where can I get one?..." If, like 30Cal says, you just got it from the CMP, call them. They'll fix it. If not, Gunparts has them. http://www.e-gunparts.com/ Click on 'Start here' thence to 'U' then US military.
Since the firing pin is busted, it isn't the ammo. Relax. It's not a big deal. Annoying? You bet. Maddening? Yep. Expensive, if it's not a recent CMP purchase? No. $10 from Gunparts.
Go here and with the provided UN and PW, download a manual.

You can buy from the above-mentioned sources, but I suggest a Garand specialist like Orion 7 (www.m1garandrifle.com) or Bill Ricca (http://www.billricca.com/).

You might also get a firing pin from CMP if they still have them, or on eBay.

I'll 'second' the recommendation relative to Bill Ricca. He's top shelf.
