I posted this on another forum...
If you owned a pre series Pro Carry STS with 150 rds thru it and an Ultra Carry II with 100 rds thru it,and were considering trading one or the other for a full sized range only gun, which one do you get rid of? The remaining pistol will be used for CCW daily and shot at the range every other month or so.Both pistols cost the same when purchased. Thanks for your input.tom.

I'm not a big fan of little 1911's, but in your case I would keep the Ultra Carry and dump the Pro. If you’re going to be trading one in on a full size range gun then I figure why bother with the midsize? The Ultra would probably be a better CCW (at least from a concealability standpoint) then the Pro Carry, and then you'd have your full-size for hard use and whatnot.
There’s my two cents.
On the other hand, you could just keep them both and look for a lightly used Custom :D

Ultra Carry II Tac Pro II and Custom TLE II I really like them all but if it was me I would keep the Ultra Carry II only because of it's small size. For range you can't beat the Custom Kimbers. :)

I pretty much did the same thing you are thinking about. I have a Kimber Compact CDP Series 1 and picked up a TLE for home and range.
If I were in your shoes, I would keep the Pro Carry Series 1 and get a bobtail on it if the length of the grip gives you grief.

This is an easy choice, I'd keep the Series 1.

I guess I'll just keep them both and trade off something else for a full size. Thanks for the info,Guys.tom.
