What .45's are out there that handle more than the usual 7-8 rounds? These are a few of what I'm aware of:
Glock 21, 13+1
S&W SW99, 10+1 (may be hi-caps now though)
Para Ordnance various 1911's, 12-14 rounders
CZ-97B, 10+1
EAA Witness .45, not sure on the capacity
Taurus Millenium .45, 10+1, but it's not a full-size
HK USP, 12+1 rounds IIRC
What other full size .45's can hold more than 8 rounds?

SVI (Strayer Voigt), maker of the Infinity line, and STI. Both are widely used in USPSA/IPSC competitions.
You also misspelled the manufacturer that BEGAN the double-stack .45 line: Para Ordnance. Still a good value.
Springfield Armory makes a wide-body, but shipped them with only 10-round mags. I'm told the Para mags work beautifully in them. ;)

Kimber Ten-II series, which are really BUL's, which are now Charles Daly's.

The Witness / Tanfoglio 45 is 10+1. When CZ made the 97B they decided to use the Tanfoglio magazines so they are interchangable.
The MAC-10 and it's varients are high capacity pistols. stick magazines can be had up to 30 rounds I believe.

The Star Megastar holds 12+ rounds in .45.
Llama made a wide body which held 13+ rounds. I had one, it was very reliable but not very accurate at all.

Rock Island Armory also makes a wide body 1911, though the Para mag we tried in it jammed something awful.

If 10 rounds are high capacity, then any 1911 with a 10-round Wilson mag is in the mix.

Wilson KZ45
A friend has one and it is a really nice pistol. 1911 upper with a newly designed polymer lower. Holds 10 rounds and is actually a smidge thinner than a standard 1911 frame.

Kimber used to import a polymer Isreali-made 1911, now Charles Daly appears to have taken it over.

Forgot to mention, my favorite high cap .45 is the USP. Outstanding accuracy, ergo's that I find to my liking, great sights. I know a lot of people knock the USP trigger. I personally love it. It smooths out nicely after 1000 rounds. Also, the gun comes with a great recoil reduction system also. I personally think, this is the finest modern combat .45 made.

Enterprise Arms also makes a hi-cap 1911--either complete guns or stripped frames--I don't know if they are cast or barstock/forged--but at least you could use quality parts for the rest of the gun--unlike Para which is _all_ cast.
You should try perusing the remarks by Larry Vickers (revered 1911smith/special operator), et.al. about hi-cap .45's on 1911forum.com
I say stick with a single stack, 5" gun and get Wilson or CMC power mag 10 rounders to work in it. If you just gotta have more than 7-8 rounds. The rumor is that the HK is the best of the non-1911's but to me they feel like bricks.

High capacity country starts with eleven rounds in the magazine. Clinton, Boxer, Feinstine, Shrumer, Kennedy, Brady, all say so.

Dislike 1911's, but love 9mm. May just have to try one out....
