Browning Lighting forend...how to remove

I have a Browing Lighting U/O 12 ga in the shop. Does the forend come completly off the barrels or does it stay on them when you break the gun down for cleaning? It has a loose rib that has to be reworked and clearly the wood has to come off first.

Yes it does. With the gun closed, you lift the little lever on the bottom of the forend, pull the forend down and forward and it comes off. Then break the action, pivot the barrel and pull it off the hinge on the action - you're done!

You are probably thinking of the old Superposed where the forend and bbl assembly is indeed one piece. HTH
