New colors not user friendly

These colors are black letters on a pale green background. After looking at the posts for a while it hurts my eyes. Every where I look for a few minutes afterward I see shadows.

I think we should stop trying to be so trendy and just have black letters on a white background. It's easier for us old-timers to focus.

I agree.

Wait, does that mean I'm old?

Also, for some reason unknown to me, when I just checked in this time, the font size is much larger than in the past and even larger than earlier today. This is the first time that this has happened... Again, I don't know why.

And I don't like the large font...

Yeap, the test size got larger for me as well. In Mozilla I was able to reduce text size under View so everything is better.

Hehe! reminds me of when I was configuring a VB site! I doubt the large font will stay (I hope) but - there is a lot of messing to do whilst getting things just right - sometimes, gotta ''play'' in order to see what it all might look like.

Colors so far - IMO - not any great shakes - let's have shades of gray. Hard to offend anyone's eyes with that.

Fonts:
We just changed the font structure. It now follows more closely your own selected font. If it turned large, it may be because your browser font is set to large. For IE, select View->Text Size and select a smaller font. For other browsers, find the font selection menu and check the settings. If that's not the problem, please let us know.

Colors:
Yeah, I'm not that crazy about the Key Lime Pie color myself. We'll wait to see what Oleg has to say about it when he returns.

Or just hold down your Ctrl key while spinning your mouse wheel.

Good for blind folks like me. :D

Pax - brilliant! I had all but forgotten that one. But - it is however an incomplete fix, as it makes smaller that which should not be made smaller - and artificially shrinks that which should not be so large!

Better yet - the choice of a good ''size #2 font'' would be ideal.

Screw the wait. I went with a light gray.

How's that?

Way better Mal .... tho the green separator is still irksome (to this ol phart!!) :D

I checked my font settings and it is as always sorta ''medium'' .... so it is not a browser deal - it has grown beyond the call of duty! :p

Depending on your display resolution (W x H), a medium font could be pretty darn large. Try a smaller one and see what happens.

than the fecal brown that was here this morning. More like I remember the old layout. :) Easier on the eyes now that the font color looks to be worked out. Neat trick with the mouse wheel and text size. Works in Opera too. :D Now if I can get it work with my trackball.

One last suggesting. I've found that with a background like the shade of green THR now has, a bright yellow works great for text highlight, rather than the red now selected.

Humm

I'm seeing the green separator , the type appears to waver from a blackish to a brownish, the "post reply" is blue and if I hit the "new posts" - it turns red.

Then again I was reading resistor codes earlier and getting the violet confused with brown...[ hush up Mal :) ]

Since I don't know, will the Vb be more difficult to maintain the new colors and settings -or- once set up are they stable and headache free?

No dice Mal - as someone else pointed out - adjustments here screw up all other sites. I am Opera multi-tabbed - all other sites are quite normal.

I have not check my setting per se but - sure as heck - THR is way bigger than any other site!! Like - I normally see a #2 size font ... everywhere, un less they have selected #3 or larger - what I see here is equivalent to a #5 or #6!

Add to that - the message box font after adjustments for main forum font display - is crazy small! Nope - this is board specific.!

Chris, the other sites might have their font size set statically, like we were. If it was THR related, why didn't my font become huge along with yours? When I select Medium font, it does become large.

Try the font setting. Humor me. You can always set it back ya know. It doesn't become glued in place.

Mal - my work is web design. I set my browser (browsers) so that if I elect to use a font #2 in my pages - it shows as such. Thus - what I see elsewhere as larger - has to mean a change in that one site - not across the board. As I said - if I do a ''Pax'' and scrollwheel to reduce the font here - most other sites get screwed up and show non genuine sizes.

Best I can do! Plus - the change to large occurred during a session - with no input from me! Why yours didn't change? I am puzzled on that right now!

Eek, the Child of the High Road setting is bad! This green one isn't too bad now.
