How far can you go without changing the basic reliability?
Grips,barrels,sights,finishes,custom parts such as mag wells extended slide and magazine releases,are the carbine conversions any good?
I'm thinking about picking one up....probably a 19 or a 17 and I enjoy messing around with parts and gadgets for all my toys.
Anyone have pics of their custom Glocks?

The problem with customizing Glocks is after all that money spent and time used up....... you still have a Glock. Its like customizing screw driver.

This is of course my opinion only. Maybe you could just put three colorful strips on the handle and call it a Gucci Glock.

I have a Glock 24P, the early competition model. It already had all the goodies available at the time, which wasn't much. 6" ported barrel, 3.5 lbs connector, and extended mag release.

Check out GlockTalk.com for all the latest wiz-bang changes. Aro-Tek (http://www.aro-tek.com) does some extensive custom work with them including Hybred comped barrels and other USPSA style goodies.

At one point I had a mount and dot sight on mine but ended up going back to just the JP Custom (http://www.jprifles.com) Double Ring sights as they didn't add weight and seemed to work about as well for me.

Here she is in her current state: Aro-Tec extended slide stop, JP Custom Double Ring Sights, and a new paintjob of Gun-Kote to hide the 7000 rounds of wear and tear.

Check out www.topglock.com for accessories, I'm not sure how competitive their prices are, I can't speak on that personally.

The only thing that I've done to one of my Glocks (my G17) was to have the Slide refinished in OD Green, put a guide rod laser in it and put night sights on it. (okay so the laser and night sights was already on it when i purchased it from a friend, but they are add on's so I included them).

With the mass of aftermarket parts for Glock, you can do just about anything with and for them. Latest sensation on the market is Dale Rhea's 2lb. drop in trigger kit for $120 approx.

Thing is though, out of the box they shoot just great, although it is tough to resist an alteration here or there, you know ;)
