I like the one I have.

I know Ala Dan likes the one he has.

Others have mentioned that they like them too.

As with any manufacturer, there are people who have heard bad things, and had bad things happen. But I don't think you can go wrong with a 14+1 45 ACP from Para Ordnance.

Hello! :D

Para Ordnance firearms are kind'a like Glocks; you either LOVE them, or
you HATE 'em! Personally, I'm siding with the crowd that likes them. I
especially like their new single-action, single stack Super Sport Pistol
(SSP) and the Lieutant Colonel (LTC) models. The latter has the 4.25"
barrel, known as the "Commander length" after Colts well known piece
the Combat Commander.

Both of these weapons are complete, with a lot of bells and whistles
only found on the much more expensive custom built 1911's. The only
thing I don't like about these guns, is the cheezey type stainless steel
magazines supplied with each firearm. To make this weapon a surperb
weapon, throw the Para magazines away and add a couple of Wilson
47D's. Other than that, these two are great 1911's. And right now,
the price is right; only $599.

Best Wishes,

I traded a very good shooting, accurate Sig P245 for my first Para. It is a staniless Carry 12. Some 550 rounds later I have decided that it was the best trade I have ever made. To say that I traded up is an understatement.
OK now let me explain a few things. I had 2 Sig's, a P220ST that I love and will never part with and the P245. The 245 just did not fit my grip that well. It was not balanced in my hand. It only held 6+1. It had decent sights but no night sights.
I had been reading about the Para's for about a year and was impressed with my buddies LDA. So I started looking for one of my own. I found the LDA Carry 12 in Stainless......my favorite type of gun steel.

This gun is really loaded, with low profile, Novak style Tritium Night sights, extended thumb safety, bobbed grip safety (I really like that for a CCW), and the double action trigger system that comes with this gun is awsome. I love all the safety workings built in, takes cocked and locked to a whole new level of safety. I really like the wider cocking serrations on the slide and the performance of the new para extractor is really something. Lets not even mention the fact that 13 rounds of 45acp in this little gun is simply awesome.

I like to practice doubletapps and this little gun performs them with the best of my other guns. I was concerned that it would be difficult to get back on target quickly but I was proven wrong. I shot 5 bowling pins staggered along a 4x8 sheet of plywood, at different distances, faster than I can with any of my other 1911 style of guns. The only gun that beats the Para is my Sig P220ST and it is not much. Plus 550 rounds without any problems gives me the confidence I need for concealed carry. I am a 230gr. shooter and tried many different brands and bullet styles in the gun before settling on my favorite Federal Hydrashok load. Accuracy is well above the accepted norm for a close combat weapon that is easily concealed.

I like my c7.45--My wife likes her Tac Four so much she says she would never get rid of it.
love the LDA triggers. :)

Para makes a very decent handgun..early ones were a bit rough in the cosmetics and the parts are not all premium..but they can be built up into a very very nice handgun or be left alone..

a rail could be added..look at the Dawson or Caspian rails..

I have Para P14-Ltd and have no major complaints concerning its function.

The adjustable sites that came on the gun were junk, had them replaced them with a set of fixed Novack nite sights - went with a set of Houge grips -molded with the finger grooves. Did a spring change in the factory mags also to a wollf +10% spring. I also changed the recoil spring to a 24lb as i shoot 450smc thru this gun.

The accuracy of the gun is excellent. I want a P-16ltd to convert over to 10mm... ;)

I would have no problem recommending one.

Any Idea if you can get an Accessory rail added on one?

My Para Ord is the P-12. Bought it used from a guy who had to let some of his collection go...so I lucked out with a gun that had less than a box of 45's through it for half the original price. It has a 3.75 inch barrel, 3 dot sights, and an all black finish on an all steel frame and slide. It has been my carry piece since I got it...and at the range, the last thing I do before leaving is practice presentation and firing a double tap from concealment. Gotta keep up them motor skills...
